Surrogate advertising earned a whole new dimension in the year 2006 with several top notch brands associating themselves with big films. Here’s a low down on the top five movies that were high on big brand advertising:

Dhoom 2: Coke, Pennzoil, Pepe, Sony, Disney, Toon Channel, Sugar Free, Mc Donalds, Speed, Suzuki Zeus.

Lage Raho Munnabhai: Worldspace, IOCL, Go Air, MSN, Good Day, Kurkure, Bright Outdoor, Reliance Communications.

Don: Louis Philippe, Motorola, Garnier, Citibank, Oakley, Tag Heuer and Airtel.

Krrish: Bournvita, Tide, Hero Honda, Boro Plus, Lifebuoy, HP Power, Acron and Hansoplast.

Baabul: Nerolac Paints, Kotak Insurance, Taj Mahal Tea, Eros Jewelry and Audi Car.

With big corporate houses getting into Bollywood in a big way, don’t be surprised if surrogate advertising touches a new high in the year 2007. Hope, it’s not too-in-the-face. Subtlety is fine. And as long as the story is gripping, nothing else matters.
